The Dodge Challenger's Engine is Built for Long-Distance Road Trips

The Dodge Challenger has two engine options. Both designs are highly efficient and can handle demanding road conditions. If you need a reliable car that can take you to distant destinations without struggling, you'll benefit from operating a Challenger with a V6 or V8 engine throughout your next adventure.

Fuel efficiency is very important during long-distance driving situations, as it can reduce the need to refuel at the gas pump. The Challenger's V8 engine is quite fuel efficient because it uses advanced technology called Fuel Saver to manage its cylinders on the road. If the technology senses that all eight cylinders aren't needed, it will deactivate four of them. On long highways, the V6 engine performs well; it has a solid driving range that calculates to 550 miles.

You can test each of these engines after setting up a test drive at Straub Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. We have many new Dodge Challengers on our lot in different trims, and our educated staff can explain key advantages that each trim option offers on the road.
